Step Six ... (notes below)

Okay, finally I get my scanner settings under control! It turns out that if I turn on the scanner, then quickly take a scan of the print, the colours are way too bright and saturated. That's what happened for the past few images. But if I turn it on around fifteen minutes before taking the scan and let it warm up, then the colours match what the print really looks like! (When I do the second batch of prints for this edition, I'll re-scan those earlier steps; for now, I can't go back and change them ...)

So now you see what I meant when I said 'don't think of this as the 'black' block; this is actually printed in a light grey tone' ...

Brick red ... took two impressions to get it nice and deep ...
